Will You Keep Waiting

I’ll let you in on a secret when it comes to completing the recitation of Quran, the khitma, so that you’re not deluded by the devil or laziness and waste an entire lifetime just getting ready.

Whether you’re trying to recite daily, or memorise portions from the Book everyday, the key to success is: Consistency, consistency, consistency.

Otherwise, if you wait until you’re ready, then you’ll be waiting forever.

Flee to Allah

We’ve been asked flee from fitnah and not test ourselves to see if we can handle it. Because shaytān will keep deluding you.

Run away from sins, run away from fitnah, run away from that which makes your heart restless. Run to Allah سبحانه وتعالى, only He can give you the ultimate refuge and peace.

‎فَأَيۡنَ تَذۡهَبُونَ
‎So where are you going?
‎(Qur’an, 81:26)

His Hidden Blessings

Allah may have stored immense blessings hidden in the realms of Unseen for you which would empower and provide for you exceeding your hopes and dreams, but perhaps if they were to be given to you at this moment, you’d lose the sight of your Lord and get busy with the worldly dreams and treasures. So, Allah, out of His love and mercy for you, will prepare you for it by testing you until you rise up in faith and submit to Him in a patient state of gratitude, and have a stronger faith that will shield you from becoming disillusioned with this world.

The trials of this life are meant to prepare you for the good both in this world and the next and will increase you in faith and certainty so that you attain the best of both worlds.

“It could be that you dislike something, when it is good for you; and it could be that you like something when it is bad for you. Allah knows, and you do not know.”

Rushed Life

Whoever loves the Quran will make time for it. As for those who say they don’t have time in their day to give proper attention to Quran or are too busy.. Their souls are wrapped up in laziness which needs to be reined back in before it’s too late.

No one is too busy to eat, drink, sit with their favourite people and drinks that cheer them up, and always make time for their usual social media apps, daily programs and even sleep.

You prioritise some things over others. Everyday.

If you’re too focused on the worldly activities then you need to replace one of them with Quran so you don’t lose sight of your purpose.

It is all about priorities.

Hold onto your Quran with strength, love and be grateful that you have lived long enough to see and hear its message because there will come a time when this blessing will be taken from us.

So prioritise.

In 34 Days

Another sister from Australia completed her Quran in 34 sessions and was given Ijazah in tilawah.

It took her hour long sessions, 5 days a week, to complete her journey with the Quran from start to finish.

Her first two sessions were introductory lessons to make sure her tajweed was on point and the last two sessions were where she was tested in the entire Mushaf. So, it took her 30 sessions to review the entire Quran this way.

Allah makes the path easy for those who make a resolve to continue working towards their goals.

Every year, on my birthday (I don’t celebrate it or make announcements which makes this interesting), I receive surprises from the students of Quran.

Few years ago, it was a sister who learnt some chapters of the Quran from me and dropped a box of chocolates for me in return for my help.

Again, a few years ago, another student gifted me a beautiful Quran.

And this year, a sister was given her Ijazah on the blessed night of Friday which also coincided with my birthday.

Just the thought of it makes me happy, doing things to help people move forward and making things easy for them is the reason why we were placed within our communities.

I hope to see more sisters flourish, master the tilawah of Quran and progress forward beautifully.
